CYC Vacation Care provides a fun, safe recreational holiday program offering a wide range of activities to enhance children’s learning and spark new interests and friendships.

Our Philosophy

CYC Vacation Care is an extension of Christian Youth Camps (WA) Inc and plays an important part in the lives of children in our care.

We strive to provide a safe and caring environment that allows each child to develop good life skills that will equip them for adulthood.

The way this is achieved can be seen by:

  • Ensuring the centre is safe & stimulating
  • Allowing children to relax & be comfortable
  • Providing programs that are interesting & age appropriate
  • Consideration of individual needs
  • Respecting the needs of others
Our operating times

Vacation Care operates during the public school holiday period operating from 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Who can attend CYCWA Vacation Care?

Our Vacation Care service is offered to children from kindergarten through to those who are 15 years old.

We offer two groups to allow for more age appropriate activities. Each group has their own program of activities/ excursion and leaders. Groups are separated during the middle of the day from 9:30am – 3:30pm. If a child is not interested in an activity for their age group we try our best to be accommodating and allow them to join in with the other group as best we can.

 Junior Kid Group (JK)

The Junior Kid Group (JK) program is designed for children from kindergarten through to 8 years old. For more information on the JK program click here.

Older Kids Group (OK)

The Older Kids Group (OK) is aimed at children aged 8 years old through to 15. For more information on the OK program click here.

Excursions and Incursions

To help keep costs down for families, we endeavour to provide one paid incursion and one paid excursion per week of vacation care.  This allows us as a service to break up the everyday activities by bringing in a company or visit a thrilling ‘holiday activity’ externally.

Activities are planned based on children’s interest and observations from the previous vacation care period. We allow for extension in learning as well as spontaneous activities because we believe that children are at their best when they have a choice in what they are doing.

Our unique open space, allows us to utilise the premises by providing a range of indoor and outdoor activities. . Outside exploration and play is one of the children’s favourite’ parts about CYC.

Meal times

CYCWA Vacation Care provides well balanced and nutritious meals to the children whilst they are in our care, including; breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. A sample menu can be found here.

All dietary requirements can be met by our onsite head chef and kitchen staff. Please note that we are a nut free service. As we are a Christian organisation each day the children and staff participate in a 10-20 minute God Spot session which can involve bible stories and verses, songs and games. Before each meal we also thank God for everything important in our lives and the children take it in turns each time.
